What Is a Prisma Frame?

Prisma is a completely customizable picture frame line made from high-grade acrylic. Versatile and dynamic, Prisma frames can elevate whatever you are framing, whether you are creating a custom floater or traditional frame or using a ready-made Prisma photo frame for your piece. Prisma frames are also ideal for framing mirrors, especially those that will be hung in humid conditions.

What Are Prisma Frames Made Of?

Prisma frame mouldings come in a choice of sea acrylic (with a hint of green) or crystal (clear) high-quality acrylic in thicknesses from ¾” to 1” and widths from ¾” to 6-1/2” in quarter-inch increments.

What Width Should You Choose for Your Frame?

With the ability to choose almost any width between ¾” and 6 ½”, you can take your item from subtle to bold, just with the width of the frame. Larger widths are best for larger pieces, but can also be used to draw attention to smaller items that would otherwise be lost on a wall.

What Shapes Do Prisma Frames Come In?

There are nine available shapes of Prisma frames to choose from, including rectangles with concave and convex sides, rectangles with smooth, rounded corners, and even circles! Smooth sides and corners make Prisma frames ideal for children’s rooms. The selection of shapes also enables you to achieve effects that are not possible with wooden mouldings. Prisma Frame Finishes

Prisma frames come in crisp. clear finishes for a bright, glossy look or lightly sanded for a matte effect. Use the sanded version for a softer feeling or go crisp and clear to maximize the effect of bright colors and patterns.

What Color Prisma Frame Can You Get?

Speaking of colors and patterns, you can mix and match your choice from 46 colors, six metallics or clear with one of 19 patterns including linear, radiant, textural, graphic and floral designs, to perfectly highlight an element from your piece. Mimic the color and shape of scales on a fish painting, highlight patterns from an abstract giclée print, or give an Art Deco feel to a mirror or antique photo to achieve a perfect custom frame.
