How Long Does It Take to Get Something Framed

If you go to a big box store for a mass-produced frame, it shouldn’t take you long to insert your photo or art and get it hung on the wall. The problem is that this type of basic framing doesn’t always cut it. Whether you are looking for a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift or a statement piece for the dining room, you need a frame that will enhance your art. This is where a custom frame shop comes in, but how long does it take to get something framed at a shop?

How Long Does Custom Framing Take?

Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer. The custom framing timeline will vary, but great art takes time. You will not be able to walk in and out like you would with the purchase of a pre-made frame. Before production can even begin, you need to start planning the frame. This process includes picking the moulding or deciding on the type of framing style. Depending on whether or not you know what you want, this process alone can take time. Thankfully at Rosenbaum Framing, our staff is on hand to help you with this process and is there for as little or as long as you like.

How long it takes to get something framed once you make all of these decisions will depend a lot on the specific order. Factors like quantity, moulding type, and customizations can all play a role in how long the production takes. A frame for a professional license using in-stock moulding will likely not take that long, but in contrast, custom framing for fine art with special moulding may take a bit longer to complete. Typically, with custom moulding, your order will take about two to three weeks.

Along with the special requirements for the individual order, we also get several orders that are for more than one frame at a time. If you are looking for commercial art framing for your business for high-volume orders, you should expect this order to take longer.

The time it takes to get custom framing done will vary, but our South Florida art consultants will not only help you through the entire framing process, but they will also be able to answer all of your questions. They will be able to give you a more definitive timeline for production once you place your order. If you need a rush order, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
